Schematic overview of ePRISM®'s model transfer technology.
For researchers who own or collect clinical outcomes data and generate risk models, ePRISM® offers a rich set of tools for electronic model publishing, patient data collection and visual report generation.
ePRISM® allows models to be transformed into fully functional web-based tools as soon as they become available with virtually no lag time or development costs. Such tools can be marketed and licensed to hospitals and insurers seeking efficient resource utilization and improved patient satisfaction through the use of patient-specific decision support applications built around up-to-date evidenced-based risk models. In addition, patient access to such tools could allow them to estimate procedural risks as they seek to choose therapies most aligned with their individual goals and values.
The ability to publish models as XML web services allows research entities to maximally leverage their investment by making their models available to third-party software developers and vendors for incorporation into existing applications; a key feature of ePRISM®'s web services architecture is that the underlying mathematical definitions of the models themselves are never exposed to the vendors, thereby providing model developers maximum protection over their intellectual property.
