The Thirty Day PCI Readmission Model was developed to estimate the hospital-specific, risk-standardized 30-day all cause readmission rates following PCI. This hierarchical logistic regression model was developed for all inpatient admissions or outpatient services with a PCI procedure, using Medicare Part A inpatient and outpatient claims data, linked to NCDR CathPCI Registry data. The development sample consisted of 128,745 admissions at 766 hospitals. The goal of the model is to improve patient outcomes, transitions in care and overall quality of care by providing patients, physicians, and hospitals with information about risk adjusted readmission rates following PCI.
